Don’t you hate when people disrespect you and try to justify it? No. No. No. I never cuss out my friends. A stern talking to, yes. But cussing is absolutely uncalled for.
A couple of weeks ago, I went to Gorge Metro Park. I’ve lived in the Akron area for most of my life and I’ve never been to this metro park. I had heard nothing but good things about it and I finally got to see it for myself.
Within 20 minutes into my hike, I got stung by a bee. I had to dig the stinger out which wasn’t fun, but I didn’t let that deter me. The scene was beautiful from the moment I stepped in all the way through. I got to the river and I had to hang out there for a little while because it was so absolutely peaceful. I ended up almost falling in though. That wouldn’t have been good.
An hour in, I got to the Signal Tree in the center. It’s a 300+ year old Oak that looks like a “W.” It is said that Native Americans used trees like that as guides. It is a magnificent piece of nature.
Overall, it took me 2 hours to get to the Signal Tree and back and it was the perfect day for it. I would not suggest going in there with shoes without traction. It IS a hiking trail.
Ohio has some of the most amazing metro parks that are free to the public. I am a strong believer that if you have the access to it something like this, you should utilize it.

Friday, July 25th, the Nine Muses Art Gallery had their grand opening with the At First Glance Art Show. This was the very first art show that I’ve ever been in. It was an exciting experience. I spent all evening meeting new people and hanging out with friends. I was incredibly inspired by a lot of the art work. There were definitely a few favorites amongst them all.
Trial of Lucy provided everyone with music for the last two hours of the event and I really enjoyed them. They have a cellist which is awesome. Their overall sound fit well with the atmosphere.
I won’t bog you down with all the details from the night, but here are some photos from the event (click to enlarge):
I want to take out the time to thank Emily Speelman. She’s such an awesome person, photographer, artist, and curator and I’m so glad she gave me this opportunity to show off my work. Her gallery is so beautiful and I commend her on doing such a great job.
I also want to send out a thank you to everyone who came out to support me. I really appreciate ever last one of you and I hope to continue to grow as an artist and add my work to many more galleries. A solo show would be amazing in the future.
If you didn’t get a chance to make it out, the work will be up through August 22nd. Check it out and purchase one if they suit your fancy.
